Opening of the Acanthus Gallery with the exhibition Quo Vadis? by Dijana Tomik Radevska
The initiation of the idea and the activities of the Acanthus Gallery began with the exhibition of the multimedia artist Dijana Tomik Radevska. The artist was invited to present her project “Quo Vadis” for the gala opening of the Gallery. The exhibition was shown in the period 31.03.2017-26.05.2017
We are meeting with an established multimedia artist. Known to the public for her creative narration from the past and the present, about the relationship between the self and the other. She presents herself today with art works unknown to the public.
Medusa, Dragon, The Tower or Babel, Devil… are apocalyptic, mythological creatures depicted in dark and somber hues with a strong pictorial sense and dramaturgy. Digging in our collective consciousness she instigates a reexamination inwards form the outside; where are we going?
Joy of living draws our attention to forgotten stylistic techniques in every medium. The power of feminine depiction and a sharpened sense of linking with tradition resulted in the exhibited rug. The recycled objects are given a new guise of useful value and a beauty of life. Interactively she leads us in a universal world of the enchanted cycle of desire.
By using gold leaf in the triptych Prayer she creates a powerful mysticism and a plane for yearning and celebration of the collective conscious. Let us pray before we go out. Her works she shows us a way towards healing the soul and the body.
A goods start with the symbolism of A&D
All the best to Acanthus and Dijana
