Opening of Orhan Kjamil’s “Owl on the Wall” exhibition
The Accantus Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of the solo exhibition of the artist Orhan Кјamil, on Friday (June 2nd), starting at 8:00p.m.
Marina Leshkova, art historian, academic painter and custodian at this exhibition says: “It is a challenge to get to know Orhan Kjamil and his process of creation, where the symbols and signs activate the recipient’s senses. The composition in the works captures the moment, where the color constitutes the idea of the act of painting. Spatial dimension of awakening the deeds of the dream of one’s own myth and a game with a special depth from which the characters and figures are devouring. Storyteller on the way of creating works with a surreal atmosphere, with unpurified layers – layer by layer, comes alive with warm and cool colors and applications applied horizontally and vertically. ”
Thirty pieces of Kjamil will be presented at this exhibition in various techniques, graphics, acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas, aquatint, acrylic fibreboard, etching and other combined techniques. The works presented at this exhibition are from a different period from the author’s work, from 1998 to 2017.
Orhan Kjamil was born in 1977 in Kocani. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, at the department of graphics in the class of professor Konstantin Tanchev-Dinka in 2003. He has participated in several group exhibitions in the country and abroad, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and other countries. He also works on theater projects in the Shtip’s theater and the theater of nationalities in Skopje.
The Accantus Gallery, with this exhibition, continues to realize its mission and bring the contemporary Macedonian art closer to the Skopje audience.
